Frequently Asked Questions - Shadows of Aethro

These are the most common questions players ask when joining or playing on the Shadows of Aethro server. If your question isn’t answered here, ask in Discord or open a support ticket.

Q: Is this server whitelisted? A: No. Anyone can join as long as they install the modpack and follow the rules.

Q: Where do I get the modpack? A: It’s available through CurseForge or directly from aethro.net/files.

Q: Can I play without starting a colony? A: Yes. You can build your own base, live nomadically, or join someone else's colony. Colonies are encouraged but optional.

Q: Is PvP allowed? A: Yes, but only outside of claimed areas unless everyone agrees to it. No killing inside another player’s colony or protected space.

Q: What happens if I get griefed? A: If it happens inside a claimed or colony area and breaks rules, report it immediately. Outside of claims, it’s fair game unless rule-breaking is involved.

Q: Can I use shaders or visual mods? A: Yes, as long as they don’t affect gameplay or give unfair advantages.

Q: Is there a world border? A: Yes. The world border is large but finite to encourage interaction and optimize performance.

Q: How do I get support? A: Use the Discord server. Post in #support or open a ticket for more serious problems.

Q: Can I become staff? A: Maybe. Staff are chosen based on trust, activity, and usefulness. Applications open in Discord when needed.

Q: What do I do if I find a bug? A: Report it in the #bug-reports channel or through a ticket. Include as much detail as possible.
