Wednesday Wisdom from a Gaymer Dad Your kid might break the rules—in-game or at home. They’re still learning the code. Don’t rage quit. Teach them.
  3. Thank you for the report. This was replicated so we will be looking into how to fix this.
  4. Appreciate the thought, but no — we’re not enabling piston TNT duping. Saying there's no need to worry right now because the current players are fine completely ignores how servers actually work. You don’t make server-wide policy changes based on the current player list. You make them based on what keeps the server stable, fair, and scalable as it grows. TNT duping gives infinite explosives for free. That’s not just a quality-of-life change — it breaks progression, trivializes builds, and turns one bad actor or missed moment into a potential server-crashing disaster. And yes, even with constant ā€œoverwatching,ā€ we’re not going to micromanage who uses which machine every day. If the community really isn’t abusing anything right now, great — then they don’t need duping to enjoy the game either. We're not setting ourselves up for problems later just to save someone time crafting TNT. The answer’s no.
  5. "making it hard to abuse" That's the thing that worries me.
  6. Dakota proudly showed off his latest Minecraft build: a rainbow-colored llama stable that’s somehow also a spaceship. Meanwhile, Riley "helped" by filling the area with bees. Lots of bees. Parental status: Trying not to scream while being stung in creative mode.
  7. So as per the rules, if you don't claim it's on you. So that's not really something I'm taking into consideration. Also the system regenerates if it's TNT damage. I do agree, we have auto farms as is that handles a lot of automation, and I am more concerned about allowing duping systems and where the exploiting can go from that.
  8. Working on a fix.
  9. Gaymer Dad – Patch Notes: Week 2 Jack is feeling better (+70% functionality) Riley unlocked: Floor Art (glitter trail active) Chaos continues. We document it.
  10. The Shadows of Aethro Forge server just got a whole lot smarter. We’ve officially launched a dedicated Bugs & Suggestions area to streamline feedback, squash bugs faster, and get community-driven ideas implemented quicker than ever. Whether you've spotted a broken quest trigger, want a new feature added to your colony experience, or have a balance suggestion—this is now the place to be heard. Here’s what’s new: šŸž Bug Reports: Report technical issues directly in one clean space, categorized by type (mods, plugins, server behavior, etc.) šŸ’” Suggestions: Have an idea to improve the gameplay loop? Want more quests, new trade options, or plugin tweaks? Drop it here. šŸ”„ Status Tracking: Suggestions and bugs will be marked as Open, Under Review, In Progress, or Completed, so you know where things stand. šŸ”” Live Discord Updates via RSS: Every new post or update from the Bugs & Suggestions area will now automatically ping in the #forge-updates channel in our Discord. Stay in the loop without checking the forums constantly. Why this matters: You shape this world. Shadows of Aethro is meant to grow with its players, and now your voice has a clear path straight to the devs and admins who can make things happen. Ready to help improve Shadows of Aethro? Let’s make Shadows better. Together.

  12. Why My Minecraft Servers Are Still Alive While Yours Are Listed for $45 on ServerList Graveyard Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not just some dude renting a $5 Minecraft realm and playing CEO. Aethro is a registered business in California. This is a serious project, run with structure, sustainability, and a future in mind—not some throwaway Discord fantasy. I’ve been running game servers since I was 16. I’ve hosted Minecraft servers longer than some of you have known how to port forward. This current network? Still going strong after over 3 years—no crashes, no resets, no begging for donations to survive. Before anyone gets smug and says ā€œyour server will die too,ā€ let’s kill that nonsense right now: I don’t rely on donations to run my servers. I have a major, stable income outside of Minecraft. The servers are fully funded by me—no desperate GoFundMe links, no ā€œplease buy a rankā€ guilt trips. I fund Aethro because I believe in what we’re building. That’s it. Now, about this ā€œpaid modā€ delusion that keeps floating around… Every time I post that we’re ā€œhiringā€ moderators, a few people crawl out of the woodwork demanding to know how much they’ll be paid. Some even whip out dictionary definitions of ā€œhiringā€ like I’ve committed war crimes. Let me save you the time: Moderating a Minecraft server is not a job. It’s a volunteer position in a community gaming environment. You help keep things running smoothly, welcome new players, squash trolls, and occasionally check logs. If your first thought is ā€œhow much money do I get for that?ā€ you’re already the wrong person for the role. And let me be crystal clear—yes, I said hiring. No, that does not mean paid employment. It means I’m bringing people into the team. And yes, our team gets rewarded: they receive VIP status, special in-game perks, private staff channels, and decision-making power. They're part of something. But no—they’re not being cut a paycheck for logging a few hours a week and answering questions in chat. Will I ever pay staff? Sure—if we grow and generate consistent revenue, absolutely. I’m not against paying people fairly when it makes sense. But I’m not running a charity, and I’m sure as hell not lighting money on fire just because someone thinks modding a server is worth $15/hour. I’ve seen servers implode left and right because they tried to pay moderators before they could even cover hosting costs. It always ends the same: drama, ghosted staff, dead player base, and a pathetic ā€œserver for saleā€ listing on some back alley forum. We don’t do that here. We run lean. We run smart. We build with people who actually care. So if the word hiring hurts your feelings, or if you’re clutching your Oxford dictionary like it’s a weapon—this ain’t the server for you. If you need cash to care about a Minecraft community, we’re already not speaking the same language. But if you’re here for the long haul—if you want to help shape something real, work alongside a solid team, and earn trust, recognition, and community respect? Then maybe you’re who we are hiring. TL;DR: Aethro is a registered California company. Our servers are fully funded by stable personal income. We don’t rely on donations to survive. Modding is a volunteer role, not a job. You’ll get VIP perks, recognition, and decision-making power—not a paycheck. If we ever pay staff, it’ll be sustainable, not fantasy. Quoting the dictionary won’t change a damn thing.
